Why is exercise important? It can help us control our weight and lower our risk of heart disease, high cholesterol, osteoporosis, and other problems. Exercise can also lower stress, give us more energy and confidence, and make us feel good! Many people also find that it helps to balance their mood.

It is not as hard as you think to start exercising.

  • Find an activity that you like. You do not have to go to a gym. Dancing, hiking, and even running around your house are all great ways to exercise! Change the kind of exercise you do once in awhile so that you do not get bored with it.
  • Set goals for yourself, like being more flexible or losing weight.
  • Using an activity log will help you to stick with your exercise program. It will also help you to watch your progress toward your goals.

You do not have to exercise every day. Do it as often as you can. Every little bit helps! The most important thing is to stick with it!
